We’ve recently completed a rear extension and full kitchen remodel at a period home on Buxton Road in Macclesfield. The single-storey extension opened the back of the house into a bright open-plan kitchen and family room, with roof lanterns bringing daylight deep into the space.
The new kitchen pairs cream shaker units and brass handles with a marble-topped island, alongside a run of sage-green cabinetry and a marble table for family meals. An exposed steel beam carries the opened-up structure, and a pale tiled floor runs throughout the ground floor.
We also fitted a new downstairs WC, finished in fluted wood panelling with a backlit mirror, and glazed garden doors that connect the kitchen straight to the rear. From the structural work to the final details, this was a warm, practical reworking of a much-loved home.
