We’ve recently completed a full renovation, rear extension and loft conversion of a period home on Prestbury Road in Macclesfield. The project reworked the house from top to bottom, giving the owners a brighter, more open home while keeping the character of the original building.
On the ground floor, we opened up the rear into a large open-plan kitchen and dining space. Exposed steel beams carry the new structure, and full-height glazing brings in light and opens the room onto the garden, with a separate utility and new joinery keeping the day to day practical.
Upstairs, a loft conversion added a bright new bedroom under the eaves, and the bathrooms were rebuilt in marble with walk-in showers and freestanding baths. The staircase, flooring and decoration were renewed throughout, and the rear garden was landscaped to make the most of the new connection outside.
